Grandparents are blessings from heaven. And sweet little Cambria is lucky to be getting all the love and attention she needs from Grandma, Kimmie, and Grandpa, Keynon. But the love doesn't end there! The home is full of family - with extra hands and open hearts from Aunts and Uncles living together under one roof.
Cambria is only five years old yet she has endured so much! Born with a deleted 13th chromosome, Cambria only has vision in one eye, relies on a g-tube for her nutrition and is currently on a waitlist for a kidney. Diagnosed with Cerebral palsy and kidney disease, Cambria relies on the help from her family to get through each day. Her verbal communication is limited but her facial communication tells a different story. You can see her light up like a glow stick - something she loves to play with - when she is camping with her family. She loves lights and vibration, but can get easily over-stimulated - so creating a sensory-themed room with just the right balance of relaxation and stimulation was key!
We would like to thank Children's Physician's Medical Group for once again donating their time and talent to help Cecily's Closet complete our 58th room makeover. This team of devoted friends and co-workers, led my Miss Katie, was unstoppable! They took the limited funds supplied by Cecily's Closet and bolstered it with their own fundraising efforts. This additional elbow grease and generously donated funds enabled the team to transform this space 100%! They tore down wallpaper, installed new floors, and created a beautiful, bright, sensory-filled room for Kimmie & Keynon's bright light, Cambria.
Thank you to PaintGreen for jumping in and doing a lot of additional work for this space. This room required a little more TLC so they were able to use the additional funds from Children's Physician's Medical Group to do some extra work. New drywall, beautiful paint and a fantastic white ceiling created an inviting space for little Miss Cambria to relax and play.
Thank you to Matt's "Honeydo" Handyman Service (Matt Caputo) and Miguel Ortega for donating their time and service to perform a slew of handyman duties to make this room happen. We are so grateful to people like Matt and Miguel that open their hearts to help us transform spaces for children with special needs here in San Diego.
Thank you to our Project Lead, Julie D., for organizing the troops and jumping right in to make this room a fun, restful retreat for one very deserving little angel.
And thank you to the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation for generously granting Cecily's Closet the funds to keep our organization chugging along! Thank you for making Cambria's Sweet Dream Room makeover a possibility!
