Gabriel's Story
Meet Gabriel, a strong, inspirational little boy and the light of his Mom and Dad's life. He was nominated for a room makeover by his Physical Therapist and we could not have chosen a more deserving family. He reminds me of Cecily in so many ways and that made made this room makeover just that much more personal for Cecily's Closet. His story will touch you. His family will inspire you. We are grateful to just be a small part of their lives.
Gabriel's family is very involved in his life. He blessed to have the support of his loving Grandma and his caring Aunt - who help provide child care while his Mom works hard to support Gabriel and all of his needs. Together, they support each other on the good and the not so good days. Together they pray. Together they believe. And together they honor Gabriel's spirit.
Gabriel was born with a seizure disorder that has significantly affected his development. Like Cecily, he has infantile spasms and at present his diagnosis is also unknown. One thing that is not unknown is his love for his Mommy! His therapist tells us that he is a very involved little two year-old who does not let his developmental delays slow him down! His parents celebrate every step he makes forward in his development - and work hard to ensure he has everything he needs to achieve his full potential.
Gabriel is proof that angels are everywhere! Why do I adore this family so much? Because they believe! They have a strong faith, and a resolve that will serve them and their little angel well. In a world where negative voices can reign supreme, they are letting their positive light shine and it is magnetic. We look forward to following Gabriel's development because we know he is going to surprise everyone - and we waant to be there to cheer him on!
Thank you to the fabulous aritst, Hayley McNeil, for helping transform Gabriel and his Mom's shared space into a room that will provide an energetic and creative area for Gabriel to play, and his Mom to unwind. Gabriel's Mom wanted to surround Gabriel with angels because she believes in their healing power. Hayley jumped right in and created a beautiful Mom cradling a baby in soft blue and yellow hues! It served as our backdrop for the entire space. Thank you to Beach Bungalow Designs for donating the gorgeous linens for Gabriel's crib, and thank you to Dance and Company for donating the beautiful bed and feather pillow to make a soft and comfortable retreat for Gabriel's Mom.
We are so lucky to have partners that work hard to make magical rooms for amazing kids, like Gabriel. Cecily's Closet is just happy to be able to provide this small gift to Gabriel and his family.
