Hume's StoryIntroducing Hume, King of his own Jungle. This adorable little boy has a new place to play and sleep - full of animal surprises! We have already heard back from his Mom and he has been roaring at the lions on his wall! We couldn't be happier.
Hume was nominated for a Sweet Dream Room Makeover by his teacher at Sunny Days who absolutely adores this family. Hume's Mom has her hands full with cutie Hume, one, and his precious and very sweet sister, Abby, 4. Hume's Daddy returns at the end of the month after a very long deployment. His Mom said he will be thrilled to see Hume in a "big boy" room! Abby was very excited about Hume's room and her bubbly personality and love of her little brother was shining for everyone to see. This type of enthusiasm should be bottled for everyone to share! The walls roared to life with two male lions and a baby. Thank you to a new contributing artist, Todd Schmid, of Art & Sol of Todd A. Schmid, for reaching out to us to help make a difference in the life of a child! Todd is a leader in decorative painting and fine art murals in the San Diego area since 1995 is the creative force behind The Art & Sol Studio. Todd added decorative touches throughout, including lacing the ceiling with leaves and adding a very cute monkey hanging from the ceiling! It was everything we wanted the room to be - bright, cheery and a lovely place for Hume and his sister, Abby to play. This time we toyed around with a few new ideas! We added some sensory integration wall panesl to the room to promote Hume's developmental skills. Thank you Anatex for giving us a great deal on these amazing toys. The adorable animal table finished off this space and provides Humes a place to sit and practice his sign language and play. Thank you to our generous donors for making Hume's "Sweet Dreams" makeover come true! |
A True Miracle BabyBorn at 23 weeks, Hume only weighed 1lb, 5 oz. at birth. He lived in the hospital for the first 3 months of his life. He is a fighter and a tough little cookie!
While he was in the hospital he underwent a PDA ligation (heart) and hernia repair. He has a diagnosis of Chronic Pulmonary Bronchial Disease (CPBD) and receives services from Early Start for delays in development. He recently began walking and while we were in his house he showed us just how far he has come - climbing up and down and having a ball with his sister. Surrounded with love from his Mommy, Daddy and precious sister, Abby, Hume is growing and working hard to walk, talk and reach his developmental milestones. We are inspired by his story of strength and his family's devotion to their angel, Hume. |
